10月31日，国家教育部国际司司长、港澳台办主任刘锦带队莅临广东以色列理工学院进行调研。调研组一行充分肯定建校以来各方面建设取得的长足进展，寄望广以加快发展，办出特色。
一同到校考察的还有教育部国际司二级巡视员、办公室主任闫炳辰，办学处副处长王义、主任科员张远萌；广东省教育厅副厅长朱超华，交流合作处处长李金俊、主任科员周柳余。汕头市副市长林依民，汕头大学党委书记姜虹，广东以色列理工学院校领导李剑阁、Eliezer Shalev、林丹明、Naama Avrahami等陪同调研。
在汕期间，调研组一行实地查看了正在紧锣密鼓建设中的广东以色列理工学院南校区，到已经投入使用的教学实验楼进行参观，与教授、科研人员和学生们深入交流，听取了学校所作的工作汇报，详细了解各方面建设进展和取得的成绩。
调研组表示，广东以色列理工学院从无到有，学校规模从小到大，正式建校仅两年多，就取得了令人欣慰的好成绩，入选广东省“高水平大学建设计划”。百年树人，调研组也表示，广以目前还是起步阶段，希望学校能秉承以色列理工学院建校百年来的严谨治学态度、科学探索精神，进一步提高学术水平，全面突出自己的特色，加快发展，打造一所经得起时间考验、得到社会大众好评的世界一流高等学府，为广东、中国，乃至世界培养出更多的一流科研人才。
A delegation led by Ms. Liu Jin, Director-General of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Department of the Ministry of Education(MOE), visited GTIIT on Thursday. The delegation congratulated GTIIT's progress since its establishment and expected further development with distinctive characteristics.
Attendees included Mr. Yan Bingchen, Director of the General Officer of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Department of MOE; Mr. Wang Yi, Deputy Director of the Education Office of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Department of MOE; Ms. Zhang Yuanmeng, Principal Staff Member of the Education Office of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Department of MOE; Mr. Zhu Chaohua, Deputy Director-General of the Guangdong Provincial Education Department; Mr. Li Jinjun, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Department of the provincial Education Department; Mr. Zhou Liuyu, Principal Staff Member of the International Cooperation and Exchanges Department of the provincial Education Department; Dr. Lin Yimin, Vice Mayor of the Shantou Municipal Government; Dr. Jiang Hong, Party Secretary of the Shantou University and leaders of GTIIT: Mr. Li Jian'ge, Prof. Eliezer Shalev, Prof. Lin Danming and Ms. Naama Avrahami.
The delegation paid a visit to the South Campus, which is currently under construction, the Research Building and the Teaching Lab Building as well. They communicated with professors, researchers and students, and listened to the introductory presentation of GTIIT and thus to better understand the development and achievements of the university.
At the conference, the delegation pointed out that GTIIT has made great achievements since its official operation in 2017. They expressed their sincere hope that GTIIT will carry forward and maintain the rigorous learning attitude and the spirit of scientific exploration which are essential virtues of the century-old Technion. By pursuing higher academic level, outstanding characteristics and rapid development, GTIIT seeks to become a widely recognized world-class university and cultivate first-class scientific research talents for Guangdong, for China and for the world.
